Humana’s primary care network grew by approximately 59,000 patients and 54 centers in the first quarter following the purchase of MaxHealth, a Medicare-focused primary care provider, from private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners.

The transaction closed in the quarter ended March 31, 2026, and was detailed in Humana’s quarterly financial disclosure on April 29.

Arsenal Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on healthcare and industrials, had backed MaxHealth as a platform company.

The sale provided an exit for Arsenal and enabled Humana to move dee.

MaxHealth’s operations are now folded into CenterWell Senior Primary Care, a Louisville, Ky.-based subsidiary of the health insurer.

CenterWell operates one of the largest networks of value-based primary care clinics dedicated to seniors, delivering team-based care coordination and chronic disease management.

The additional centers support Humana’s strategy to align payer and provider services, with the goal of improving health outcomes and managing costs for its Medicare Advantage membership.

Humana, which enrolls more than five million individual Medicare Advantage members, reported that CenterWell Senior Primary Care added a net 110,500 patients during the quarter, a sequential increase of over 22 percent.

The MaxHealth acquisition contributed about 59,000 patients and 54 centers to that total, the company said, representing a substantial portion of the division’s quarterly member increase.
