Xpress Wellness, a Goldman Sachs-backed provider of urgent care, primary care, and behavioral health services in rural and suburban markets, announced on May 6 that it acquired Midwest Counseling Services. The transaction closed.
Founded in 2022, Midwest Counseling delivers talk therapy and individual counseling to older adults in Wichita-area senior living and long-term care communities. The practice partners with care teams at those facilities to provide on-site mental health support. Under the deal, founder Lisa Harrison becomes Director of Operations of Post-Acute for Xpress Wellness, overseeing the Kansas market while continuing to treat patients. The company said the acquisition will allow it to extend mental health services into additional communities across Kansas, maintaining the Midwest Counseling name and without changes to patient experience. Xpress Wellness operates locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
